President Iván Duque and the Minister of Housing, Jonathan Malagón, spoke of the new program of the National Government that will deliver 200,000 homes and will benefit almost one million Colombians. "We are going to carry out a very aggressive program of housing subsidies, we will put ourselves in the task of accelerating construction and delivering 200,000 homes to our country. They will be subsidies, through different modalities," said the president.

The delivery of these subsidies is a joint work with the Ministry of Housing and Finance, which will begin in the second half of this year until 2022. "These subsidies substantially lower the quota and will allow many families to build that dream of being owners, "said Iván Duque.

Who are the beneficiaries?
The National Government hopes to help the most vulnerable families, the middle class and people who want a second home. "100,000 homes will be for families with incomes less than four minimum wages who want to buy a low-income home and 100,000 will be for families of any income level who want to buy a home that is not low-income up to 438 million pesos "indicated the Ministry of Housing.

What will the odds be like?
"We will have fixed quotas, this allows Colombians to gain purchasing power year after year, because paying 400 or 500 thousand pesos a month today is not equivalent to paying the same figure in 5 or 7 years and that guarantee will be very important so that Colombians do not run the risk or have any kind of surprise due to an eventual outbreak of inflation that could change what is paid monthly when it is tied to UVR, but not when it is tied to fixed quotas, "said the minister. of Housing, Jonathan Malagón.

How will they be delivered?
These subsidies will be available from the second semester of the year. If the beneficiary has a compensation fund, the fee is also reduced to almost 70 percent and 47 percent for those who want to purchase homes that are not of social interest. To access non-VIS housing there is no restriction in terms of income. "Between now and 2022 we will have 200 thousand housing subsidies, 100 thousand of which will be destined for the purchase of low-income housing, through the programs and mechanisms that are already in force and another 100,000 additional, which will be destined to the home purchase above the VIS ceiling as a limit on the 500 minimum wages. It is about 200 thousand dreams for more and more Colombians to decide to buy a home, "added Malagón.
